On September 5, 2024, the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Academic Complex, signifying a transformative step in health education. The event was attended by local leaders and representatives from the private sector, including Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga, Vice Mayor Rex Mangubat, and DMCI President Jorge A. Consunji.


Mayor Austria-Barzaga expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I am sharing our excitement and optimism as we lay the groundwork for excellence and compassionate care, where every student has the opportunity to excel and contribute to the betterment of our society.”


In his speech, DLSMHSI President Dr. Tony Ramos mentioned that the Institution aims to be “a consistent leader in health education in our region, not only by having the highest number of students and graduates but also by having the most scholars in a private health learning institute while maintaining the highest standards.”


Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, represented by his deputy chief of staff, echoed this sentiment, noting, “This new academic center that you are establishing here in the heart of Dasmariñas will stand as a beacon of hope not only for students but also for the sick, whose lives are going to be saved by these future medical professionals.”


This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a new academic endeavor and reinforces the commitment to fostering a generation of compassionate healthcare providers dedicated to making a positive impact in society.

On May 30, 2025, De La Salle University Medical Center (DLSUMC) honored the global AIDS Candlelight Memorial with the theme “A Tribute to Lives Lost, A Light of Hope to Those Living with HIV.” The event aimed to raise awareness, promote compassion, and support the ongoing response to HIV. The day's activities included a Lay Forum on HIV, providing valuable information to attendees. Free HIV testing was also offered at Clinic 2121 to encourage early detection and provide access to care. A solemn offertory Mass was held at the St. John Paul II Chapel, followed by a candle lighting ceremony of the Red Ribbon at the MAC Lobby. This poignant moment served as a tribute to those who have passed away and offered a symbol of hope and strength to individuals currently living with HIV. Through its participation in the AIDS Candlelight Memorial, DLSUMC reinforces its commitment to community health and its support for those affected by HIV.
