De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) recently concluded Research Week 2025, a high-impact two-week event held from January 12 to 23, 2026. Under the theme
“Expanding Horizons, Strengthening Research Excellence,”
the celebration brought together faculty, medical residents, and students to advance the frontiers of medical innovation and scholarly development.
The week started with a Thanksgiving Mass and blessing of the advanced research laboratories, followed by the official launch of the Research Exhibit alongside The Lasallian Journal of Health.
A diverse lineup of activities was held to sharpen technical skills and showcase scientific breakthroughs across all levels of academia. Flagship competitions, such as the
1st Research Pitch Presentations and the
37th Annual Residents’ Research Contest, provided clinicians-in-training with a platform to present rigorous, practical findings.
Beyond the contests, participants explored the future of medicine through an
AI Literacy Seminar
focused on the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in health research. Furthermore, a specialized
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) seminar
was conducted to ensure institutional research remains compliant, reproducible, and aligned with global scientific protocols. The week culminated on January 23, 2026, with the
18th DLSMHSI Students’ Research Contest.
Through activities ranging from innovation pitches to capacity-building workshops, Research Week 2025 proved that research at DLSMHSI is a collective journey in
Nurturing Discoveries. It was an opportunity for dialogue and empowerment, effectively expanding the horizons of health science scholarship for every participant.
