DLSMHSI's Karilag Tree Lighting Ignites the Holiday Season

The most wonderful time of the year officially arrived at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) on December 1, 2025, for the Karilag Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. This year's event is organized by Lasallian Mission and Development (LMD) in coordination with the Academic Services-Student Life Engagement (AS-SLE) and the Institutional Student Council (ISC), which brought the whole Lasallian community together.
The event is named after the Tagalog word Karilag (or Karilagan), which translates to magnificence, splendor, or beauty. By naming the ceremony Karilag, the DLSMHSI community sets the stage for a truly exceptional and high-spirited celebration.
Despite the unexpected shower, the festive energy was palpable as the Green Sentinels enjoyed dazzling performances that served as a joyful countdown.
The spectacular Christmas Tree in the Green Square serves as a symbol of hope, joy, and the warmth of the Christmas season for everyone, in joyful anticipation of Jesus’ birth.
